Location: Cheboygan
Schedule: Full-Time ~ 30-hours/week, Monday–Friday w/emergency on call
Pay: $18.00/hour + Full Benefits

Do you enjoy hands-on work and take pride in keeping spaces functional, and welcoming? We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our 24-unit Affordable Living Community—ensuring residents have a clean, well-maintained environment to call home.

This role offers a variety of tasks, from light repairs and preventative maintenance to groundskeeping and preparing apartments for new residents. If you’re dependable, resourceful, and enjoy making a visible impact every day, we’d love to connect.

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Worker, you’ll play a key role in keeping the property running smoothly and safely:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and units
  • Complete work orders efficiently, including light plumbing, electrical, and drywall repairs
  • Maintain building interiors and exterior grounds, including lawn care and snow removal
  • Prepare and clean vacant apartments for new residents
  • Respond to maintenance requests and address issues with minimal supervision
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and materials
  • Support general housekeeping and upkeep of shared spaces

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 1 year of general maintenance or handyman experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and general repairs
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, vendors, and contractors
  • A customer-service mindset with compassion for individuals in affordable housing communities
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

Additional Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Current automobile insurance (personal vehicle may be required for work use)
  • Availability for on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays as needed
